It took 4 batches to perfect, but today we’re ecstatic to share our moist, velvety, decadent, melt-in-your- mouth banana bread –the perfect dessert option for your next dinner party. We make this bread for the family each month, slice it and freeze it, otherwise the entire loaf would be gone within 1 day! It’s just that good.

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup walnuts (optional)

Instructions
  1. Place rack at center of oven and preheat to 350 degrees
  2. Mash together banana and yogurt in a bowl with a fork
  3. Add eggs, oil, vanilla, brown sugar, and mix well
  4. Add flour and baking soda to batter slowly and mix
  5. Fold in cinnamon, chocolate chips and walnuts
  6. Lightly oil a baking pan and bake for 45-55 minutes until a toothpick inserted into center of loaf comes out clean
Recipe Notes

If very large bananas are used or batter appears too wet, add a few extra tablespoons of flour. 
If baking into muffins, bake for 20 minutes instead.
