Turmeric, cumin, paprika and cayenne bring warmth and life to this meal! Did we mention the beans are cooked in JUST 8 minutes.
Serve it up with a salad, otherwise you may find yourself or the family eating an alarming amount of our delicious beans. We even had to make more the very same day!
Ingredients
- 2 cans black beans (no salt added) (540 ml per can)
- 1/2-1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp cayenne
- 1/3 tsp smokey paprika
- 4-6 whole grain wraps
- 2 cup shredded cheese (or more to taste)
- 1 avocado (optional)
- 1 cup cilantro (optional)

Instructions
- In a frying pan sautee rinsed beans with tomato sauce at med-high heat. Add salt, pepper, turmeric, cumin, cayenne and paprika and simmer for 5-8 minutes. If mixture appears very dry, add a little more tomato sauce. Adjust spices to taste.
- Turn off heat and mash beans with potato masher. Mix in optional chopped cilantro
- Prepare wrap by spreading beans on half of a wrap. Layer with optional mashed or thinly sliced avocado. Add shredded cheese and fold wrap to create 1/2 moon shape
- Place wrap in heated frying pan at medium heat to melt cheese. Heat each side until golden brown and crisp on the outside
- Cut into triangles and serve with salsa, greek yogurt and a side salad
