Without my banana nut oatmeal I would be lost. I had this every morning when I was a university student. It is the perfect breakfast option if you’re in a rush. These oats can be ready in 3.5 minutes, consumed in 7 minutes, and digested slowly so you’re not hungry 60 minutes later. Banana lovers rejoice and get on the RADNUT banana oat boat!

For those who aren’t fans of bananas, substitute banana with 1 tbsp cranberries and 1/3 cup berries or use 1/3 cup apple chunks, extra cinnamon and cloves instead.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 banana
  • 3/4 cup skim or 1% milk
  • 1/2 - 3/4 cup plain rolled oats
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tbsp walnuts or pecans (chopped or whole)
  • 1 tbsp almonds (chopped or whole)
  • 1/2 tsp hemp or chia seeds (or mixture of any seeds)
  • 1/2 tsp unsweetened coconut
Servings: Serving
Instructions
  1. Place banana in bowl. Add small amount of milk and mash with fork for even distribution of banana flavor throughout oatmeal. Alternatively, banana can be sliced if preferred
  2. Add oats, cinnamon, raisins and remaining milk to bowl. Stir
  3. Microwave for 2 minutes or until oats soften
  4. Top with walnuts, almonds, seeds and coconut
